You can participate in forums that relate to to your site, and where you can leave a link to your adsense page/site. Also visit other sites/blogs and leave useful comments, and if possible a link to your site. Social sites are where you can promote your site (e.g. twitter).

Also Important to have good content that will keep visitors on your site, and to place the adsense ads properly (so that they blend in with your site, are in relevant positions, and of adequate sizes), to increase the chances of visitors clicking on the ads…

The best way to drive traffic to your website is to provide useful and unique content - Google (and most internet users) take a dim view of sites that are specifically made for AdSense, and AdWords advertisers will exclude your site and choose for their ad not to appear there if the page is bad. This means you’ll be left with the cheap advertisers and not make any money - it’s a vicious circle :o)

The best way to get traffic to your site is getting indexed by Google and Yahoo. Normally google indexed your first or second level pages. You need to get all of your pages indexed. The method I use to get my new websites crawl by google is to add indexyoursite tags to all of my pages.
