To increase Google traffic, If I change my URL name to include sought after keywords, will this hurt or help?
If it hurts my ranking, can I get around this by having two URL names directing to the same page?
Keywords in domains are just a factor, how big google ain’t saying. If I already ha a domain with age and links, I wouldn’t sacrifice them for the name factor. Putting keywords in sub-domains and of course directory-file paths help as well. You would probably get the biggest bang by treating the new url as a separate entity, ideally on a different C code url, attracting it’s own traffic that links to your main site.
