Hi, if any one can help me on how to get Google voice number, please.
I’ve registered my request on my existing google account few times, but there is no response and invitation.

You just have to wait and it will come. It took around a month for me to get mine.

I downloaded the Google Voice app for my blackberry, and now it looks like I can have people call the Google number and leave messages that will then go into Google Voice.

My question is: is there a way link up my cell phone number to google voice? IE, can people leave messages for me on my cell number that will then be transcribed and emailed to me using the Voice application?

I really don’t want to start giving out a new number…too complicated.

If you’re using a Google number, you can still set up Google voicemail with any mobile forwarding phone.

To do this, click Settings at the top right of the page. On the Phones tab, click the Add Google voicemail to this phone link to get started. Anyone can put your phone number up as a mission!! Then you get hundreds of kids texting your phone!! beware and stay away from this site!! still dealing with a mess of a phone bill.

I have recently launched a new website. I just want to know how long does it take for Google to recognize backlinks to my site. I am currently generating backlinks by posting on different forums, blog commenting and directory submission. It has been a week now but still there are 0 backlinks to my site according to Google.

Yahoo is relatively quicker than Google in recognizing backlinks. Does anyone have any idea how long does it take for Google to recognize backlinks to my website?

If your backlinks come from good quality (good according to Google) sites then only Google lists them and better quality links take very less time to appear I have seen Google pick up links for my site in less the 4 days. Normally, it will take about 1-2 weeks to get the effect of your backlinks. However, if you can get backlinks from high traffic pages or sites, Google normally used to visit those sites very frequently.

Google doesn’t list every backlinks to your website, but yahoo does. That’s why you think yahoo is quicker. But I believe that Google is faster than Yahoo in indexing websites, so happened to me. If you links are listed in Yahoo, sure google knows about them, but it may not list them. Use Social Bookmarking which all are high quality site according to Google also when you bookmark your website with Social Bookmarking site you will find most of them are authority site also so you will get very quick back link.

I restarted my google G1 phone to factory settings so i can start over fresh. But when it get to the step where i have to create a new google account it keeps saying that they can not connect with Google’s servers because there is a connection problem or its a problem with my SIM card. What do i do now?

are you able to see the data connection icon at the top? If you don’t you need to call your provider tmobile? to see if they can fix it. if you call ask directly for a android/blackberry specialist because the regular I.T. guys seem pretty clueless about the data connection for android. Its what i had to do when i first got my mytouch.

You get points points for signing up for free ringtones or whatever (eg on Friend FAQ) but it says like 9.99/month. I would have to validate it by entering the code from a txt, and google voice recieves texts. My question is, (1) would it work, and (2) if it would work, would they be able to charge me, since my gv is hooked up to my cell?

Sending SMS from a website like Skype or Facebook to your Google number currently won’t be received because these sites treat SMS as if they are sending to an email address, which Google Voice doesn’t support.
